Kodi IPTV Setup With PVR IPTV Simple Client (Kodi 19 to 21+)
Kodi doesn't need any third-party add-on for IPTV: Team Kodi's own PVR IPTV Simple Client turns your M3U link into a proper TV section with a guide, timeshift and recordings. Menus are identical on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, Fire TV and Raspberry Pi.

What you need
- Kodi 19 or newer
- PVR IPTV Simple Client add-on
- IPTV Trends M3U link and EPG link
- Internet of about 10 Mbps per HD stream, or 25 Mbps per 4K stream
Setup steps for Kodi
Step 1: Enable PVR IPTV Simple Client
Go to Settings (gear) → Add-ons → Install from repository → PVR clients → PVR IPTV Simple Client and choose Install or Enable.
- On Linux builds such as LibreELEC it's usually pre-installed but disabled
- Kodi 21 Omega and newer can hold several configurations; choose Add add-on configuration if asked
Step 2: Point it at your M3U link
Open the add-on → Configure → General.
- Location: Remote path (Internet address)
- M3U play list URL: paste your IPTV Trends M3U link
Your welcome email (sent the minute your trial or plan starts) holds four things: Server URL, Username, Password and an M3U link. Not in your inbox? Look in spam or promotions, or ask support to send it again.
Step 3: Add the XMLTV guide
Still in Configure, open the EPG tab, set Location to Remote path and paste your XMLTV link. Press OK.
With an Xtream Codes login the guide arrives on its own. Apps that want a separate XMLTV address can use http://SERVER:PORT/xmltv.php?username=USERNAME&password=PASSWORD, filled in with your own details, or ask support for the ready-made link.
Step 4: Restart Kodi
Quit Kodi completely and launch it again. TV now appears on the main menu with Channels, Guide and Recordings.
Fixes for common Kodi problems
Check the add-on is enabled and the location is Remote path, not Local path. Then go to Settings → PVR & Live TV → General → Clear data, which forces Kodi to read the playlist again.
Confirm the XMLTV link is in the EPG tab, then Settings → PVR & Live TV → Guide → Clear data. Large guides can take a minute to import on a Raspberry Pi or Fire TV.
In Settings → PVR & Live TV → Playback, turn off 'Start playback minimized' and set a short channel-switch delay. On Fire TV, enable hardware acceleration in Settings → Player → Videos.
