Firestick IPTV Setup: TiviMate or Smarters on Fire TV
Amazon doesn't list IPTV players in its Appstore, so on a Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Cube or a Fire TV smart TV you sideload one with the free Downloader app. You do this once; after that the player opens like any other app. One thing to check first: the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and other models running Amazon's newer Vega OS can't sideload Android apps, so this guide only works on Fire OS devices.

What you need
- Amazon Fire TV Stick or Fire TV device
- Downloader app (free)
- IPTV Trends login
- Internet of about 10 Mbps per HD stream, or 25 Mbps per 4K stream
Setup steps for Firestick / Fire TV
Step 1: Turn on app installs for Downloader
Fire OS blocks apps from outside the Appstore until you allow them per app.
- Go to Settings (gear icon) → My Fire TV → Developer Options
- Choose Install unknown apps and switch Downloader to On (older Fire OS: Apps from Unknown Sources → On)
- No Developer Options menu? Open My Fire TV → About, highlight your device name and press Select seven times
Step 2: Get Downloader from the Appstore
Press the microphone button and say 'Downloader', or use Find → Search. Pick the app with the orange icon by AFTVnews and choose Get. If you did step 1 first, come back to it now that Downloader exists.
Step 3: Enter a player's short code
Open Downloader and allow file access when asked. On the Home tab, select the URL box, type one of the codes below and press Go. Downloader fetches the player straight from its developer.

- Downloader then offers to delete the installer file: choose Delete. A Fire TV Stick Lite only has 8 GB, so spare space matters
- TiviMate looks like a cable guide; IPTV Smarters Pro has fewer menus for first-timers
Short codes are run by a third party and occasionally get re-pointed. If a code stops working, message our support team and we'll reply with the current one.
Step 4: Sign in with Xtream Codes
TiviMate: Add playlist → Xtream Codes. IPTV Smarters Pro: Login with Xtream Codes API. Type with the Fire TV remote, or install the Fire TV app on your phone and use its keyboard to paste.
- Playlist or profile name: any label you'll recognise, such as IPTV Trends
- Username and Password: copy them character for character, since capitals matter
- Server URL: paste the whole address, starting with http:// and ending with the port number
Your welcome email (sent the minute your trial or plan starts) holds four things: Server URL, Username, Password and an M3U link. Not in your inbox? Look in spam or promotions, or ask support to send it again.
Step 5: Pin the player to your home screen
Sideloaded apps hide at the end of Your Apps & Games. Press and hold the Home button → Apps, highlight the player, press the menu button (three lines) and choose Move to front.
Fixes for common Firestick / Fire TV problems
Fire OS still hasn't been told to trust Downloader. Go back to Developer Options → Install unknown apps, switch Downloader on, then open the downloaded file again from Downloader's Files tab.
Open Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications. Clear the cache of apps you rarely use and uninstall old players. Deleting the installer file in Downloader after each install also frees 50 to 100 MB.
Make sure you typed the numbers in the Home tab's URL box, not the Browser tab, and with no spaces. If the code still fails it may have been changed; support can send the current one.
Fire TV Sticks sit behind the TV, which weakens Wi-Fi. Amazon's Ethernet Adapter for Fire TV (or any compatible USB adapter on the 4K Max) gives a steadier signal than any Wi-Fi setting.
