Watch IPTV on a Windows PC or Mac: Desktop Players Compared
On a laptop or desktop you can pick between a full guide-based player and a quick open-the-playlist approach. Windows users also get a free option from the Microsoft Store, and both platforms can drive a TV over HDMI.

- IPTV Trends login
- Internet of about 10 Mbps per HD stream, or 25 Mbps per 4K stream
Setup steps for Windows / Mac
Step 1: Choose a player for your computer
Install one of these from its official source.
- IPTV Smarters (Windows and macOS): download from the IPTV Smarters website for the full live TV, movies and guide layout
- MyIPTV Player (Windows only): free in the Microsoft Store, uses your M3U link and EPG link
- VLC (both): free from videolan.org, best for a quick check that your line works
Step 2: Sign in to IPTV Smarters with Xtream Codes
Open the app, choose 'Login with Xtream Codes API' and paste your details from the welcome email.
- Playlist or profile name: any label you'll recognise, such as IPTV Trends
- Username and Password: copy them character for character, since capitals matter
- Server URL: paste the whole address, starting with http:// and ending with the port number
Your welcome email (sent the minute your trial or plan starts) holds four things: Server URL, Username, Password and an M3U link. Not in your inbox? Look in spam or promotions, or ask support to send it again.
Step 3: Or open the M3U link in VLC
Windows: Media → Open Network Stream (Ctrl+N). Mac: File → Open Network. Paste the M3U link and press Play; open View → Playlist (Window → Playlist on Mac) to change channels.
Step 4: Put it on the TV
Connect the computer to the TV with HDMI and press Windows+P → Duplicate, or on a Mac use the Screen Mirroring menu for an AirPlay TV. Press F in VLC for full screen.
Fixes for common Windows / Mac problems
Gatekeeper blocks apps downloaded outside the Mac App Store the first time. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and choose Open Anyway next to the app's name.
Close browser tabs, plug the laptop into power and, in VLC, set Tools → Preferences → Input / Codecs → Hardware-accelerated decoding to Automatic. A wired connection helps too.
It's usually a typing slip: a missing http://, a dropped port number, or a capital letter entered in lowercase. Copy each field straight from your welcome email. If your trial or plan has ended, the same error appears until you renew.
