Smart TV IPTV Setup for Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS)

Samsung and LG don't run Android, so Firestick tricks don't apply. Instead you install a TV player from the built-in store, and most of those players link to your subscription in an unusual way: the TV shows a MAC address, and you add your playlist to that address from a phone or computer. Which players appear depends on your TV's model year and country.

What you need

  • Samsung (Tizen) or LG (webOS) smart TV
  • Phone or computer with a browser
  • IPTV Trends M3U link
  • Internet of about 10 Mbps per HD stream, or 25 Mbps per 4K stream

Setup steps for Samsung / LG Smart TV

  1. Step 1: Find a player in your TV's store

Search for IBO Player first; if it isn't listed, try Smart IPTV or IPTV Smarters.

    • Samsung (Tizen): press Home → Apps → the magnifier icon, type the app name, then Install
    • LG (webOS): press Home → Apps (LG Content Store on older sets), search, then Install
    • Store listings vary by region and model year. If nothing turns up, a Fire TV Stick or Google TV Streamer is the reliable alternative
  2. Step 2: Copy the codes the app shows

Open the player. It displays a MAC address (six pairs like 3A:F2:...) and, for IBO-type players, a Device Key. Take a photo with your phone so you don't mistype them later.

  3. Step 3: Attach your playlist from another device

On your phone or computer, open the player's own playlist page (Smart IPTV: siptv.app/mylist; IBO Player: the Manage Playlists page on its website). Enter the MAC address and key, then paste your M3U link.

    • Paste the M3U link from your welcome email exactly, with nothing before or after it
    • Choose a playlist name such as IPTV Trends if the site asks
    • Submit, wait for the confirmation, then fully close and reopen the app on the TV

Your welcome email (sent the minute your trial or plan starts) holds four things: Server URL, Username, Password and an M3U link. Not in your inbox? Look in spam or promotions, or ask support to send it again.

  4. Step 4: Let the guide fill in

Channels appear in categories straight away. Programme information can take a minute or two the first time while the TV downloads the guide.

Fixes for common Samsung / LG Smart TV problems

IBO Player and Smart IPTV are independent apps that charge their developers a one-time activation per TV after a short free period. It's paid on their website and has nothing to do with your IPTV Trends plan.

Samsung's store differs by country, and some players have been pulled from it in certain regions. Try another player from the list above, or plug in a streaming stick; many Samsung owners end up preferring TiviMate on a stick anyway.

The TV only checks for a new playlist when the app starts. Exit the app with the Back or Exit button (Home leaves it running), or switch the TV off at the wall for 30 seconds, then reopen it.

Some players show a different MAC when you switch between Wi-Fi and Ethernet. Use the one shown on the connection you watch on, and re-add the playlist if you change.
